Mathematics Department established at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre in 2002 offers the following programmes.
The department also takes care of the mathematics requirements of all programmes.
The department of mathematics seeks to develop the inherent mathematics talent in students right after the +2 level and guide them into research level in line with the objective of the establishment of the Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre to promote research in mathematics influenced by Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The Staff members of department of Mathematics are highly qualified and experienced. They have published more than hundred research articles in national and international journals. Their areas of specialization include Toplogy, Bitopological spaces, Numerical Methods, Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Number Theory, etc.
B.Sc. (Mathematics and Computer Science): Srinivasa Ramanujan centre offers 3 year degree programme with two majors (Mathematics and Computer Science) with equal weightage for both the disciplines. The syllabus for this programme has been designed in such a way that the students can pursue higher education either in Mathematics or in Computer Science.
M.Sc. (Mathematics): The syllabus gives equal weightage to both pure and applied mathematics. The programme includes special papers like Stochastic Processes, Wavelet Transforms, Applied Cryptography, Combinatorics, Differential Geometry and Algebraic Number Theory, providing background for pursuing research work in pure/applied mathematics.
Association of the department of mathematics organizes special lectures, seminars, workshops and symposia to motivate the students of mathematics gain mastery over their subject and also know the recent trends in the field.
